They do the best possible. There are about 300 hundred people staying here each night. They attempt to keep it clean but with that many people it is nearly impossible.
Because of a broken back, I lost my business of 17 years, thus eventually losing everything. After a few nights sleeping in the car, my son and I were able to get a room at the Lydia House. We have been treated with kindness and respect. There is no forced religion and the simple rules are easy to follow. I will never understand how anyone here could complain. I see a handful of individuals who seem very ungrateful, leaving messes wherever they go, complaining and not completing the light chores assigned to them. It makes me sad. So to them i say: The ODM pays your bills, feeds you, shelters you in a nice facility, works with you to meet your individual needs and respects you. There isn't any more that can be done. Your issues lie within yourself. Address them and start being THANKFUL!
My mom and I are staying here temporarily. They are good to us. Thanks. -Jack
This place has a very awesome Christian based drug rehab program. It also houses battered, abused, and homeless women and children, they offer 3 meals a day, daycare, school bus service, job search programs along with many other programs to empower women. There is also a men's center next door that offers the same things for men down on there luck
Great staff. Wonderful facilities. Very accommodating to all.
Open Door and Lydia house.are both, in my experience, 100% staffed by people who care. There are no unreasonable rules or restrictions.
